I’m a writer and former journalist who arrived in Melbourne, Australia, at the end of 2019 on the heels of the bushfires and just before the Coronavirus pandemic hit our shores. Prior to this move, I spent three years in Sydney's northern beaches. Between 2010 and 2016 I spent nearly seven years in New York City after 'winning' the Green Card lottery in 2010 (read an account here.)

While in New York, I played in a band called Clairaudience with my husband Danny and a few friends — Heidi, Kerrii and Franzi —and we did regular gigs around the city. Check out our stuff here.

In New York, I worked at an online hyperlocal news website called DNAinfo.com (now shuttered). I studied at The New School and Gotham Writers and was a regular at The School of Practical Philosophy.

My work has appeared in the aforementioned DNAinfo.com New York, as well as in Quartz, Salon, amNewYork, Newsday, Publishers Weekly, Splitopia and MindBodyGreen. Closer to home, I've been published in The Wentworth Courier, The North Shore Times, The Mosman Daily, The Australian Financial Review, The Australian newspaper, The Australian Women's Weekly, The Daily Telegraph newspaper, The Herald Sun newspaper, produced for ABC's Radio National, worked at SBS and also worked for a number of other publications over the years. I was thrilled to be a finalist in Better Read than Dead's Winter Writing Competition 2018, and to have my work published in their anthology "In the Depths of Winter".

During the first year of the pandemic, I completed one year of a Master of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing at The University of Melbourne before landing a full-time job at The Saturday Paper, owned by Schwartz Media, in 2021.
